Ian Donjeany

Ian Donjeany is the CEO of the Elgin Group. He is an experienced entrepreneur, having led the strategic development of the Group - one of the leading engineering companies in South Africa which serves customers across the globe. Over a 10 year period he helped in growing the business from 120 employees to over 1200, with work across the African continent including Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Zambia and Mauritius. Iand Donjeany has a deep understanding of how to navigate the opportunities and challenges of doing business across the African continent, as well as a wide network of relationships in various sectors including Oil & Gas, Rail, Engineering and Mining. His business journey began as a Portfolio Manager at Old Mutual Asset Managers, where he gained valuable experience in Private Equity Investing, Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance.  Ian Donjeany is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). He has also been a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) - a peer network of chief executives and business leaders - since 2005.  He graduated among the top students at the then University of Natal and also served as a Taxation lecturer at the institution following my studies.

Ian Donjeany is a member of the Durban Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) - the world's premier peer network of chief executives and business leaders. He has also held various leadership positions including being Chairman of the Durban Chapter.
